The
Silencer Noise Gate is the first and only noise gating system designed
exclusively for car audio with speaker level gating. Composed of at least
one master controller and separate stereo gate slaves, the Silencer
noise gate was designed to offer extreme levels of high performance in
a wide
variety of configurations.
The Silencer master controller can power up to 16 stereo slaves for
up to 32 independent channels without expansion. An unlimited number
of channels is possible
with optional expansion capabilities. While each gate slave channel can handle
more than 10,000 watts peak, a fully loaded system, without expansion, is able
to handle 320,000 watts peak. When expanded, there is no limit to the power
handling capability of the silencer system.
Frequency response, channel separation, and signal to noise ratio of the gate
slaves are better than many instruments can measure. Theoretically, the Silencer
gate achieves a 206db S/N ratio, a channel separation of 142db at 1kHz, and
a frequency response of +/-.001db DC-50kHz.This incredible performance is possible
because of the enhancing characteristics of low speaker impedance and the extremely
low amplifier output impedance typical of state of state of the art audio power
amplifiers.
The controller is also unique in respecting the psycho-acoustics of hearing
at low levels. With controls designed to correspond with the time domain and
frequency
response characteristics of human ear sensitivity, it is able to operate without
spitting or pumping yet respond instantaneously to signal presence. Timing
controls to establish arbitrarily long time guard bands between system turn
on and speaker
enabling are also provided to eliminate any turn on and turn off noises.
The controller inputs include the ground loop breaking and interference cancelling
Crystal-Line input circuit to insure the truest presentation of the signal
for extremely stable gating action without affecting the source signal in any
way.
