The
CL0.2 is a high performance speaker level to low level adapter. Utilizing
many of the innovative circuits found in the aclaimed Crystal-Line
performance series current balanced preamplifiers, it delivers
a
clean, accurate, and very high fidelity signal. Designed for versatility,
it is plug programmable to permit optimum connection irregardless
of head unit characteristics: From GM-Delco to factory installed
Bose systems, the Crystal-Line CL0.2 will translate high level
signals to conventional signal levels with unparalleled sound quality.
For
Example, when properly connected to a typical 4 channel bridged
output head unit it will provide signals with up to 6db better signal
to
noise ratio performance than typical line level converters. Better
dynamic range and balance accuracy is also achieved as a result
of the plug programming feature that sets the line level conversion
ratio ahead of the differential line driving circuitry.
Although it does not fully implement the Crystal-Line current
balancing technology, its ground circuitry is totally transparent
to current
balanced lines. In other words, as far as ground lead or possible
ground loop currents are concerned, it virtually acts like a high
quality signal cable. Like a high quality signal cable each channel
is fully isolated from the other channel and from DC battery
ground.
Moreover, it drives the line with an output impedance
of under 1Ω which
shorts out any stray electric field interferences while it provides
an ideal source that enables the highest possible performance
of the input circuitry of the piece of equipment it delivers
its signals to. Featuring 8 inputs and 2 RCA outputs
with independent output level controls, the CL0.2 can
mix 4
channel head unit front and rear signals to enhance hiss
and noise
performance of typical head units by statistical decorrelation. By this
principle, the signal to noise ratio of a 4 channel bridged
output head unit can be
improved by up to 6db when only two output channels are needed.

Featuring
8 inputs and 2 RCA outputs with independent output level controls,
the CL0.2 can mix 4 channel head unit front and rear signals to
enhance hiss and noise performance of typical head units by statistical
decorrelation. By this principle, the signal to noise ratio of
a 4 channel bridged output head unit can be improved by up to 6db
when only two output channels are needed. In addition, the CL0.2
can also be programmed to implement the following functions:
• Mix left and right signals for center channel composition (the matrix M signal)
• Derive L-R (the matrix S signal) for ambience and image enhancement application
such as rear fill composition or center channel augmentation.
Designed to achieve high levels of fidelity, the CL0.2 delivers
a frequency response of 20 to 50,000 Hz +/- 0.1 db and a signal
to noise ratio of better
than 120db from noise free inputs. The device is small, yet rugged, and
easy to install. |
